Port Fairy Surf School - About Us

Port Fairy Surf School is a Surfing Australia affiliated surf school which has been operating out of Port Fairy along the Great Ocean Road and Shipwreck Coast since the summer of 2000 and more recently also now operates out of Main Beach Warrnambool and Bridgewater Bay in Portland. We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of commitment, service and professionalism, and offer quality tuition conducted in a fun, safe and welcoming environment. You will find our passion and enthusiasm for surfing infectious and we can't wait to share it with you. The thrill of standing up and riding the waves is an experience that is hard to beat!

Port Fairy Surf School's instructors are all experienced surfers with an extensive knowledge and love of the ocean; our surf instructors are fully accredited Surfing Australia Level 1 Surf Instructors (Australian Coaching Council Surf Coaching Level 1), and in addition to this also have Surf Bronze Medallions. The majority of Port Fairy Surf's Instructors and staff are qualified Victorian Surf Life Savers (active within the Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club), and as such have Level 1 First Aid and CPR certifications. Coupled with all of this training comes a vast amount of experience in dealing with individuals, community groups, people with disabilities, corporate groups and schools.

Port Fairy Surf School works extensively with schools and community groups, both locally and throughout Victoria, by tailoring programs and packages to suit their outdoor education requirements. Ask us about tailoring a program to suit your needs. We offer surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, body boarding, kite flying, fishing, and environmental and historical walks around Port Fairy. We can arrange scenic boat trips, accommodation and catering, mini golf, swimming in Port Fairy's indoor heated pool, camping and much more. We also cater for children and adults with disabilities who would like to get wet and have a go! Contact us to discuss your individual or group requirements now.

As a Surfing Australia affiliated Surf School, our Learn to Surf program is based on the Safe Surfing Program. As well as teaching you valuable surfing skills, we will also cover topics such as first aid, oceanography and equipment selection. Participants will gain skills and knowledge that will enable them to enjoy a lifetime of safe surfing.
