Discover Local Diving

Discover Local Diving is aimed at certified divers - giving an introduction to unfamiliar dive sites or unfamiliar aquatic conditions. It is also used to re-familiarise divers to the open water environment after a prolonged period of diving inactivity. Discover Local Diving is an underwater guided tour which provides divers with a safe, fun and supervised open water experience. All our Discover Local Dives are led by a PADI qualified instructor or Divemaster.

 

Minimum Age: 12 years (Junior Open Water)
Prerequisite: PADI Open Water Diver or Equivalent Rating
Requirements: We can supply all equipment at our current hire rates if required
Cost: $65.00

  Course Requirements:

                              * Complete Scuba unit including alternate air source and gauges 
                              * Dive computer or watch 
                              * PADI RDP tables 
                              * Dive knife 
                              * Mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, wetsuit 
                              * Weight belt/weights 
                              * Log Book

                              * Proof of current certification level 

Discover Local Diving involves giving an overview of the dive site area and briefing on local conditions, hazards and points of interest as well as any other special techniques or procedures relevant to the dive site and local area.

The dive is led by a PADI qualified instructor, who will point out many items of interest during the dive. The guided tour is followed up by a thorough dive debriefing, logging of the dive and the instructor signing off the dive in your log books.
